THE stunning beauty of the world’s oceans will be showcased at an event at Mount Edgcumbe Country Park.
The park will be the venue for the 2015 Ocean Film Festival UK premiere, with an outdoor screening on Sunday, September 6.
Among the short films being shown will be Devocean, the tale of paraplegic Bruno and how the restorative powers of the ocean brought him back from the depths of despair; Oceanminded, which follows champion freediver Hanli Prinsloo along the coast of South Africa and Mozambique as she dives alongside sharks; and A Small Surfer, the story of six-year-old ‘flying squirrel’ Quincy Symonds.
‘This extraordinary collection of short films documents the beauty and power of the ocean, and celebrates the divers, surfers, swimmers and oceanographers who live for the sea,’ said a festival spokesperson. ‘Inspiring and thought-provoking, the festival takes you on a journey across the globe, showcasing the huge waves of Hawaii, diving with sharks off the coast of Africa, and heading north to the far reaches of the Arctic Circle.’
The open-air screening will take place in the Italian garden.
