POLICE officers in Torpoint are urging parents and other drivers using roads outside schools in the town to be more considerate.

Sergeant Chris Chilcott, PC Jonny Williams and PC Matt Townrow were invited to attend Torpoint Infants School by headteacher Mrs Carney-Haworth to give a talk to parents about road safety.

The nine parents who attended heard first from Antony Road lollipop lady Mrs Jones, who described how some drivers did not stop for her. She also expressed concern that some young children run up to the main road unaccompanied.
