Coastguard Rescue Teams from Tamar, Looe, St Austell, Mevagissey, Polruan and Plymouth had been on an exercise in the Tamar area yesterday afternoon when they were called out to an injured paraglider who had crashed into the cliff on Whitsand Bay at Blacky Ball near Portwrinkle.
Also on scene was Cornwall Air Ambulance. Coastguard teams assisted the paramedics and stretchered the injured casualty in to the aircraft who was taken to Derriford Hospital.
