Newly-promoted Panthers' first game of the season saw them romp to a home victory over Redruth-based Connect Four.
The new line-up looked exciting, with Christina Broad (GS), Amie Hoskin (GA), Kerry Elliott (C), Debbie Drinkle (WD), Vicky Hastings (GD) and Kay Barker (GK).
Unfortunately, Panthers' newest member, Emma Dunn, was absent due to illness, but Cougars captain Emma Dalton and newly-married Erin Beale confidently stepped in to cover the wing attack position.
Panthers went out strongly, quickly gelling as a team and taking the first quarter 19-1.
Good communication from the team continued through the second quarter and, with a fantastic partnership from Hastings and Barker in defence not conceding a single goal, they ended the first half with a 34-goal lead.
Panthers let a few goals slip in the third, but some hard work in the centre court from Elliott and good use of the wing by Beale meant quick, precise passes to the shooting circle.
An energetic and positive partnership by Hoskin and Broad saw nearly all attempts at goal converted, and the home side again added substantially to their lead.
A praising and positive team talk from new captain Amie Hoskin in the final quarter break carried the team to their strongest quarter of the game, and they eventually won the game 75-5, a fantastic start to the new season.
Broad was awarded player of the match for her impressive shooting and movement in the circle.
