Callington primary school took part in JC2000 last Friday. Directed by Jill Quilliam, the music co-ordinator, it was hailed a great success.
JC2000 has been a national competition, but Callington primary school decided to put on the production themselves for Callington community.
Each of the eight year groups preformed their own productions, portraying the life of Jesus Christ and his world.
Year three performed the nativity, Nursery group - New Life; Reception - Little Children; year 1 - Jesus, The Miracle Maker; year 2 - Jesus, The story teller; year 6 - The Resurrection; year 4 - Pollution/solutions; year 5 - New Millennium Heroes.
Over 500 pupils performed and all the teachers were involved in their own year group's productions.
The performances were held at the school hall, the town hall and at St Mary's Church.
Jill Quilliam said: 'The story of the crucifixion and resurrection was performed outside the church in a hail storm but was completed very well.'
Each performance was linked by a dance - 14 dancers carrying banners heralding the next event danced from one venue to the next and the school choir sang one or two songs before each performance.
Over 700 people attended for the finale in the church where most of the school joined their families and friends to sing the songs chosen by the school.
The theme song for the days was 'We want to be New Millennium Heroes'
Mrs Quilliam said: 'The whole school was really pleased that the community supported the event, it was a great success.'
