Three pupils of Mrs Kathleen Page, who began teaching tap and ballet in the South East Cornwall area 27 years, ago have gone on to achieve outstanding individual successes.
Ann Marie Watts, Cardinham, who began classes with Mrs Page at 7, and who is now 13, has passed an audition for the Hall of Cornwall, Truro, to take part in their pantomime 'Cinderella" with Robby Dee and Heather J Jones.
At the Royal Academy of Dancing Summer School, Plymouth, she was awarded an RAD Summer School Scholarship for the student showing most promise during the sessions.
Ann is a pupil at Liskeard School.
Jenna Tamblin from St Neot, who started dancing at six, began training as a teacher at the Merseyside Dance and Drama Centre, Liverpool, last September, and has passed in elementary ballet, tap, and modern, gaining an IS-TD (Imperial Society of Teacher of Dancing) and Latin American. She also has her RAD Grade 7 (Honours) and has been awarded a two year scholarship for high achievement, progress and hard work.
During her second year she hopes to gain her IS-TD Teachers Certificate. Out of 300 auditions the school only takes about 30 pupils each year and no more than two scholarships are awarded.
Sarah Fairhall, also from St Neot, who first pulled on her dancing shoes at just three years old, successfully auditioned for a place at the world renowned Laban Centre, London, and was offered a place and scholarship which commenced this September.
Both Jenna and Sarah are former pupils of Liskeard School and Community College.
Mrs Page, who takes classes at St Neot, Looe, Lostwithiel and Bodmin has expressed her delight at the girls' successes.
