THESE are the winning entries in the Cornish Times’ Christmas picture competition.

From the pictures sent in by children from both primary and secondary schools, the judges had the tough task of choosing two winners to receive the competition prizes of a pair of Flare2 Hipstreet Android tablets.

After much consideration, they decided that the primary school winner should be seven-year-old Leo Southern, who attends Trenode Church of England School. His attractive picture features snow falling over a house festooned with lights and with a cheerful snowman and decorated tree in the garden.

The winning secondary school entry was a painted canvas by 16-year-old Rosie Cook, who lives in South East Cornwall but attends Devonport High School for Girls in Plymouth. Her scene, painted in oils, portrays a moonlit and snow-covered landscape dotted with fir trees, one of which sports Christmas decorations and is topped by a beautiful star.
