An open day is to be held in Pensilva on January 8 from l0am when a new facility entitled 'All Being Well' will be opened.

This follows from the closure of the health and fitness facility, Pensilva Wellness Centre, in October. The latest venture, under new management, will be opened on the first floor of Pensilva's Millennium House. The backers have guaranteed to keep the gym open for a minimum of six months and during this time a members' committee will be working to form themselves into a legal entity, probably with mutual status.

The venue and equipment will be the same as previously, and terms have been agreed with St Ive parish council for the continued use of the room, and with the suppliers of the fitness machines. Instructor Mel Wheldon has been appointed manager

Dr M Ronchetti of Pensilva health centre said: 'This has been a very valuable facility for the Pensilva area. I hope that it will enable many people in the area to enjoy the benefits of increased fitness and well being through regular exercise.'
