LISKEARD AREA LADIES DARTS LEAGUE
FOR the second season in succession, Kay Devine picked up an armful of trophies at the finals and presentation night at East Taphouse Social Club, but unfortunately for her they were not all winners' trophies.
As captain of the Windy Ivy, she was presented with the league runners-up trophy.
She was also runner-up to Denise Hughes, of Callington Social Club, in the Captains' Championship, and runner-up to Jan Martin, of White Hart 'B', in the Singles Championship.
She won the trophy for scoring the most tons in league matches and, with partner Theresa Hoare, won the Doubles Championship with a 2-0 win in the final against Denise and Jo Hughes, of Callington Social Club.
She also received a 180 certificate for recording one of the 11 maximums in the league this season, and Windy Ivy were voted as the most sporting team in the league during the past season.
The team knockout champions were Victoria, who beat Albion 'A' in the final.
Margaret Cocks, of White Hart 'A', won the Over 50s championship with a 2-1 win against Chris Dann, of Windy Ivy, in the final.
Carol Hoar and Viv Willcock, of Highwayman 'A', winners of the mixed doubles championship in the 2005-2006 and 2006-2007 seasons, and runners-up in 2007-08, reclaimed their crown after beating Denise Hughes and Matt Ansell, of Callington Social Club, 2-0 in the final.
All the league trophies were presented by league treasurer Heather Marshall.
In addition to the above winners, the league championship trophy was presented to Callington Social Club, the third-placed award went to White Hart 'A', and the bottom-place trophy to the Liberal Club.
Carol Hoar, of Highwayman 'A', received the most wins trophy for 26 wins out of 28 games played, and the highest finish trophy went to Tina Prinn, of Cornish Ivy 'B', who recorded a 141 checkout on November 12.
