Damelza D'Arcy (12) from Liskeard has been crowned senior winner in the 2007 PDSA Pet Protectors Enid Blyton writing competition. Along with the fabulous trophy, Damelza's poem about butterflies has also won her a fantastic box set of Enid Blyton books, a £30 book voucher and a Pet Protectors goodie bag. Damelza will also receive a rare behind-the-scenes tour of the PetAid hospital, to see how PDSA vets and nurses treat the sick and injured pets of local people in need. The Enid Blyton writing competition was featured in the February issue of Animal Antics, the Pet Protectors club magazine. Entrants had to write a short story, poem or song lyrics. PDSA executive Vicki Craighill says: 'Picking a winner for the Enid Blyton writing competition was harder than ever this year. 'The entries were all of an extremely high standard and reflected just how talented and creative our Pet Protectors are.'
