The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for South East Cornwall between 6pm tonight and 10am tomorrow morning with ice likely to bring some travel disruption.

If the weather turns particularly nasty it’s possible that motorists will find themselves stuck at the side of the road.

Recovery vehicles will take longer to get to stranded motorists if the roads are treacherous and drivers are advised to ensure they have some essential equipment in their vehicle.

This includes a blanket or sleeping bag, a small or collapsible shovel, extra screen wash, an ice scraper, de-icer, snacks, winter clothing, a first aid kit, a torch, phone charger, jump leads and even sunglasses to reduce the glare from the sun’s reflection.
