A NEW urgent eye care service will provide easier access to treatment.
The Minor Eye Conditions Service (MECS) is being provided by the University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust through community eye care professionals.
From today, the service will provide urgent eye assessments for recent and sudden minor eye conditions such as red eyes, dry, gritty or itchy eyes, ingrown eyelashes and mild pain. The service aims to provide easily accessible care closer to home for patients, avoiding a trip to Derriford Hospital’s Royal Eye Infirmary.
A full list of MECS-accredited practitioners is available in the MECS patient leaflet which can be found on the website at https://www.plymouth
