NATURE lovers are being called to join a new friends group to help support Kilminorth Woods Local Nature Reserve, next to West Looe's River estuary. On Monday next, October 25, Groundwork and Caradon Council, who own and manage the Reserve, will be holding a public meeting at the South East Cornwall Discovery Centre based in the Millpool car park, between 7pm-9pm. The evening will begin with a talk about the work members could become involved in, including information on projects that local volunteers have already carried out in the popular woodland. Local naturalist Martin Summers will be on hand to give an illustrated presentation on the plants and trees of Kilminorth Woods, their medicinal properties and the folklore associated with them. To find out more about the meeting or to register an interest in the friends group if you are unable to attend, contact Janine Sargent on 01503 263266.
