THE second national store to be built on Liskeard's out-of-town Bubble site opened for business yesterday. Argos Extra has created around 35 new jobs, with 200 people applying for the full- and part-time vacancies. Shoppers, business owners and residents have been split about whether the store should be given the go-ahead, with some concerned that it would take trade out of the town. Others wanted an entertainment complex on the site. But Caradon District Council chief executive Byron Davies said that attracting national names to Liskeard would benefit the town.
