New gym equipment will be among the upgrades coming to Cornish leisure centres, as operator GLL announces the first phase of planned improvements.

Last month, GLL took over the day-today operation of 15 leisure facilities in Cornwall, including the Saltash Leisure Centre and the Lux Park Leisure Centre in Liskeard.

The charitable social enterprise is the largest of its kind in Britain, and, in Cornwall, operates under the brand name, Better.

Initially, GLL says it will be spending £800,000 this summer to improve gym facilities at six of the centres.

New ‘Technogym’ equipment will be installed at Saltash and Liskeard, and Saltash will also be getting a new exercise class studio.

Reception areas in the two South East Cornwall centres will also be refreshed, says GLL.
