A brand new food and drink festival showcasing Cornish fare will be launched this weekend in North Hill.

The Race Horse Food and Beer Fest will also be raising money for Children’s Hospice South West with a day-long celebration of quality Cornish produce alongside a host of fun attractions.

The day-long August 29 event at the gastro pub at North Hill, between Liskeard and Launceston, will be capped with a performance by acclaimed Cornish band Love Street.

Favourite Cornish brands like Gerry’s Ice Cream, Altarnun-based micro-brewery Penpol, Tintagel Brewery and Cornish Blue cheese are among the exhibitors booked.

There will be an all-day barbecue hosted by the Race Horse’s master chef Phillip Bradshaw, a recent Taste of the West silver award-winner who trained at Alex Polizzi’s Endsleigh Hotel.

There’ll be entertainment for the family including a bouncy castle and a fun skittles competition.

The Race Horse Food and Beer Fest is from mid-day, on Monday August 29, and there’s more information on www.Racehorseinn.co.uk, Facebook: Racehorseinn and Twitter @Racehorseinn
