A NEW event promises a weekend of classical and folk music in a secluded riverside garden setting.
Music at Jopes Mill 2021 is the brainchild of Nick and Sally Beach, who moved to their new home at Trebrownbridge, near Liskeard, two years ago with the dream of making it a place where music happens.
“Lockdowns have starved us all of live music for such a long time and we are really excited that at last Jopes Mill will be filled with music for the weekend,” says Nick.
“We want to create an informal atmosphere where we can all be reminded just how wonderful live music can be. Although the delay in relaxing lockdown will reduce the capacity of our event, we are still looking forward to live music in South East Cornwall.”
Music at Jopes Mill 2021 takes place on July 3 and 4, and highlights include: festival group The Finn Collinson Band; dynamic young wind quintet The Equinox Ensemble; A classical ensemble especially formed for the event performing Handel’s Water Music by the waterlily lake; and a musical sculpture garden.
Either side of the weekend itself, some of the musicians involved will also be leading education work in local primary schools, supported by the Cornwall Music Education Hub.
