A new community choir is being formed in Liskeard, which will rehearse each Friday afternoon.

The choir will be part of a county-wide Cornwall Community Choir, with groups already in Truro, Falmouth, Helston, Penzance and St Ives.

Registrations are now being accepted for the Liskeard group, with the first rehearsal to take place on Friday, January 6, at 1.30pm in the Public Hall.

The choir will then rehearse each Friday afternoon from 1.15pm to 2.45pm.

The choir will be performing a wide range of music, including classical pieces, folk songs, show tunes and light popular melodies.

Conductor Neil Shepherd said: ‘The new choir will be a non-auditioned, fun choir with a social side, as well as the singing!’
