A new contemporary dance performance will bring messages on a postcard to life in unexpected ways.

‘A Moment’s Notice’ is a new show by local dancers Lois Taylor and Sarah Fairhall, and follows on from their Physical Postcards project of 2016.

Lois and Sarah will be joined by Swiss dancer Tommaso Giapocini at the Liskerrett Centre tomorrow (Saturday October 6). They will create a part choreographed, part improvised dance work based on real written messages from friends, relatives, and loved ones.

Lois says the show is a great way in for audiences new to dance.

‘This is a different way to enjoy dance, it is a chatty dance performance, that is fun, playful and life affirming.

‘We are excited to be working with Fiona Chivers who has an international reputation for her design work and hails from Lostwithiel. She is creating us an intriguing space to perform in.

‘Many local people have got involved by writing us postcards about their lives, and these will inspire the danced messages.’

Dance Centred is the new Liskeard-based dance organisation run by Lois, and it has recently been awarded funding from Arts Council England to create A Moment’s Notice.
