Swingletree and Red Devils were involved in the first game of the evening and the first half proved well contested. Reds played well with good communication and ball handling and this put Swingletree off their stride. It gave Devils chances of which they took advantage of.
The second half was a totally different game with Swingle showing more determination to win and they took control of the game. Centre Bridgette Yendle and WA Jude Shipton had and excellent game together making some great interceptions and fed into the shooting circle giving Lisa Martin more confidence in her shooting and some outstanding goals were scored.
Credit to Devils as they never gave up and played well as a team. GS Penny Smith had an excellent game against Swingle's GK Michelle Evely, a hard player to be up against. GA Sarah Smith scored some fantastic goals under pressure. But once Swingle pulled away there was no stopping them. They triumphed 44-13.
The second game was between 7-up and Castle Motors. Again up to half time the game was even with only one goal between the sides. It was in the third quarter that 7-up gradually pulled away scoring 13 goals to Castles six.
Castle's GS Judith Ferris, normally GD had yet another good game scoring some excellent goals and supporting GA Ali Parkin really well. Final score 7-up 34, Castle Motors 24. Nominated players: Lisa Martin, Penny Smith.
