CALLINGTON Photographic Society has changed its name. At their annual meeting, members of the group decided to alter their name to Callington Photographic Fellowship. The name change happened because while the normal annual meeting went without problems, it was felt the agenda did not suit the title of society. Joint secretary Gary Hannaford said: 'The members felt that the change necessary as we are a small and friendly group of individuals with a common interest meeting informally for light-hearted discussion over a few drinks in the Coachmakers Inn, Callington. 'It is our hope that the change of name will attract those who previously may have felt that we were a formal group, or perhaps primarily interested in studio-based photography. In reality, things are a long way from this. We have a mixture of traditional film and digital photographers who have an interest in all aspects of our art, landscape, seascape, industrial, architectural, portraiture the list goes on. 'Our friendly group encompass all ages, we actively encourage everybody to get there cameras out and get snapping.' The next meeting of Callington Photographic Fellowship will be held on Tuesday, January 17, at 8pm.
