The team behind the creation of what is set to become the UK’s first Cornish Pasty Heritage Centre would like to hear from people willing to lend or donate any artefacts they may have to help tell the story.

Opening on the outskirts of St Austell in 2017 and dubbed by some as the ‘Pasty Museum’, it will form a major component of the wider Cornish food and drink visitor attraction called Cornucopia. The new pasty heritage centre will tell the story of their development and how Cornish copper and tin miners introduced to them to far-flung corners of the globe.

Sam Healy, from WMC Retail Partners Plc, the company leading the development, said: ‘With all of the connections to Cornish mining and links overseas, we have a fascinating and rich story to tell. It’s important that we include genuine artefacts from Cornish producers to sit alongside our multi-media displays and demonstration kitchen.’

The exhibits are being developed with the help of Ben Lumby, the exhibitions and interpretation specialist from Falmouth whose previous work includes the award-winning National Maritime Museum Cornwall.
