Two Callington mums have launched a campaign to create a new toddler play area in their town.
Alexandra Woolley and Vicky Payne, both mums of three-year-olds, say that while Callington has several parks, there is a lack of safe play equipment for pre-schoolers.
After hearing many parents say the same thing, the pair decided to do something about it, and within hours of setting up a Facebook group, more than 300 people had joined up.
Alexandra and Vicky took their concerns to the town council, who they say were extremely supportive.
Following their site meeting with the mayor, Alexandra and Vicky made a presentation to a full council meeting and have now now put in a proposal for new apparatus at the Saltash Road Recreation Ground.
The Callington Community Toddler Park Project will be meeting at Annie’s Tearoom, at 11 Fore Street, on Monday, September 19, from 10.30am.
All are invited to go along and share their ideas, says Alexandra.
The group will now be planning the next steps of grant applications and fundraising.
