Police have named the baby boy who died following an incident in Torpoint last week as one-month-old Rilee James Saunders. Rilee died at Bristol Royal Children's Hospital during the evening of Friday, March 7. His parents, whose names have not been made public at their request, issued a statement through the police this week saying: 'Rilee was Mummy and daddy's little angel. 'Our lives are empty without him, now he is gone. He is sadly missed and forever loved.' The child was taken to Derriford Hospital with a head injury on Monday of last week following an incident in the Quarry House Flats in Quarry Street, Torpoint, and was later transferred to Bristol Children's Hospital. Bail A 30-year-old man arrested at the time was later released on bail which he must answer on June 24. A police spokesman said the full circumstances surrounding Rilee's death were being investigated jointly by CID and the Major Crime Investigation Team and, as this includes obtaining numerous expert witness statements, it could take a number of weeks.
