The second public meeting to plan Looe's Festival of the Sea , to run from June 9-11 was held at the Hannafore Point Hotel with a good and enthusiastic attendance.
Offers of involvement were volunteered by many organisations including the Royal Navy, RNLI, Looe Sailing and Rowing Clubs, Floating Leaf Canoes, Lions, SECTA, ACHE, Looe and Polperro Chamber of Trade and Commerce, Model Boat Society and restaurants, craft organisations and choirs.
Many ideas were put forward for a full programme to include sea, river and harbour events, children's activities, costumed themes, street entertainment, maritime theme walks, music and open air and marquee based events.
The organising committee, made up of representatives of the Harbour Commissioners and the Looe Town Forum are now co-ordinating all the suggestions and are appealing for volunteers in order to produce a list of stewards and helpers.
