The MP for South East Cornwall Colin Breed presided over a meeting of Liskeard residents concerned about the state of the bus service in the town. Mr Breed called the well attended meeting, held in the Manley Close Community Room, after being told of dissatisfaction by local people following cut backs in the bus service. Afterwards Mr Breed said: 'It was useful to hear first hand about the problems facing people. 'It is clear they require a more frequent service to the town centre, and to the supermarket. 'The additional factors of the doctor's surgery, and the dental centre's relocation outside the town centre, means the bus companies may have to look again at the service they provide. 'This offers us an opportunity to lobby them and make them aware of local concerns.'
