A brand new musical experience is coming to Cornwall this summer.

Mount Edgcumbe Country Park will be the venue for a Proms on July 13.

Under the direction of internationally-acclaimed musical director Marcus Alleyne, around 160 members of the South West Philharmonia and Chorus will headline this evening of musical revelry. They will be joined by members of Bodmin Musical Theatre Company performing West End and Broadway hits before rounding the evening off with a traditional flamboyant, flag-waving Proms finale.

Compered by BBC Devon’s David Fitzgerald, the evening will be supported by artistes including emerging singers Hannah Reid and Rosie Ugalde, Company B, the Ilow Cello Trio and Saxpak who will be joined by singer and actress Olivia Maffett. Bringing a touch of elegance to the stage will be award-winning soprano Natasha Jouhl, who has previously performed with Glyndebourne Opera. The final section of the show will feature the South West Philharmonia and Chorus conducted by award-winning Marcus Alleyne,
