A MOTORBIKE rider who died in a collision on the A390 at Lostwithiel on Wednesday, May 4, has been named as 39-year-old Benjamin Lavender.

Police investigating the collision are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Officers were called just before 12.10pm following the collision involving a white Suzuki motorbike and a black Peugeot people carrier at the junction with B3269.

Mr Lavender, from the St Austell area, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The occupants of the Peugeot were unharmed and stopped at the scene.

Officers from the Roads Policing Team attended the collision to investigate and establish how the collision occurred. The road was closed for seven hours while this took place and police would like to thank the public for their patience.

The police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information or dashcam footage which may have captured either vehicle prior to the collision that could help with their enquiries.
