High Noon at Hockings House, with a wind howling down from Bodmin Moor and the home team craving revenge. Liskeard's U-9s had to be on their mettle especially with no Eric or James to coax and cajole it was going to be down to inner strength.

Did they have it? Clearly they did and recorded a 7-2 win over St Cleer U-9s. The parents came and they stayed, they supported and they were rewarded. The boys responded to this team-work and did well. Special thanks to David K, and also Dave S of St Cleer.

At 3.30pm and more action, with Liskeard U-10s looking to vault back into second place in the Studs' League. Forced to field their strongest outfield six throughout, the home side plundered a record score beating Kinsman (Bodmin) 14-2. Prompted skilfully by Joseph Head, Chris Warren (five), Leigh Gorski (three), Nathan Rice (three), Sam Deacon (two) and Tom Furnell (a first of the season) they showed no mercy. To cap it all Simon Fowell, playing a first full game in goal, saved a penalty!

"Normally I would rein them back," explained the Liskeard manager, "and take the opportunity to blood a few of the youngsters but they had played earlier".
