With two members of the team unable to play through illness Liskeard/Looe super squad faced a tough away match at Launceston, with a total squad of 10 including three enthusiastic but less experienced players. Liskeard expected a tough time against a much larger Launceston squad. It was agreed before the match that Liskeard would play two matches to enable all of the Launceston squad a chance to get a game.

From the start Liskeard put in some hefty tackles and their passing was the best seen so far. Each member of the team worked hard shouting encouragement driving Launceston back. It wasn't long before Liskeard scored, followed quickly by more tries, no matter what Launceston did they were unable to stem the flow and by half time Liskeard led 25-0, more in the second half. It was an excellent game played in good spirit with more than a touch of skill. Final score 40 points to nil.

The second match very much more of the same Liskeard were in unbeatable form although by now getting somewhat weary they stuck to the task and the fresh legs on the Launceston team could do little about it. Final score in the second match 25 nil to our Supersquad.
