A special area with a view over the river is to be created in memory of Susan Norman, the Looe grandmother who lost her life when her home in Sandplace Road collapsed in a landslide in March.

To be known as Susan's Viewpoint, a space is to be cleared close to the junction of Sandplace Road and St Martin's Hill. There will be a bench and plaque.

The residents in the two roads made contributions to the tribute, which is being matched by Looe Town Council, which gave the go-ahead for the plan on Monday.

The idea for the memorial to Mrs Norman came from James Lundy, of St Martin's Hill.
