THE Parrots of Penzance is the title of this year’s panto production from the Lions Club of Liskeard.

The Lions are offering a special family ticket entrance price to the shows. These will be staged at Liskeard Public Hall on Thursday and Friday January 25 and 26 (7.30pm) with a matinee performance on the Saturday 27 at 4.30pm.

Senior citizens of the district can attend the weekday performances free of charge and will receive a pasty, tea and biscuits; call Lion Mike Higman on 01579 320417 if you are an OAP and would like to arrange free transport into Liskeard.

The title of the pantomime is where the similarity to the Gilbert and Sullivan operetta begins and ends, say the Lions performers.
