Father Christmas will be one of the star attractions at the Cornwall Air Ambulance Open Day this Saturday, November 30.

The charity will open its Newquay airbase at Trevithick Downs to the public for a fun and festive behind the scenes look in the helicopter hangar.

Children will have the chance to meet Santa Claus in his grotto and take part in Christmas craft activities. There will be a pop-up charity shop and plenty of refreshments on offer.

It will be one of the last opportunities to see the outgoing MD 902 Explorer helicopter up close. There will also be the chance to meet the paramedics and find out more about the work they do.

The fundraising event runs from 11am to 3pm, entry is free, but there will be a charge to enter the grotto.
