Two doctors recently recruited to the new paramedic education programme at Cornwall Air Ambulance have caught the fundraising bug.

Doctors Ben Warrick and Ryan Jackson are cycling 900km through South Africa on mountain bikes to raise funds for the air ambulance.

They start the Joberg2c adventure today (April 22) in Johannesburg and will cross four different provinces before finishing at Scottburgh on the KwaZulu-Natal coast some nine days later.

Dr Warrick said: ’Cornwall Air Ambulance has just started adding Critical Care doctors to their team of highly experienced paramedics and pilots. This education programme is funded by the people of Cornwall so we want to play our part in keeping the air ambulance flying. We are both proud to be part of the team that saves lives throughout the county every day.’
