Work is beginning on a project to establish a flower meadow at the Wooldown, a move which it is hoped will encourage bees and butterflies.
The East Looe Town Trust (ELTT) is working with Looe-based Kernow Ecology to deliver a conservation plan for the area.
A flower meadow will be created below the observatory, and the open glades on the slopes above the coast path will be restored.
The Wooldown is home to the rare long-horned mining bee, a species declining nationally through lack of flower rich habitats. The conservation scheme will also support the wider biodiversity of the whole area.
