STALLHOLDERS at a local market are looking forward to welcoming shoppers back once more after a successful trial run outdoors last month.
The Stoke Climsland Village Market has been running for many years at the Old School, but like all similar events, it had to stop during the coronavirus lockdown.
In July, after the lifting of restrictions, five regular traders took their wares outside, and with good support for the event, organiser Clive Kidman says they’re now looking forward to the next market on Saturday, August 1, with more businesses taking part.
Stalls will include: artisan dairy products, cheesecakes and puddings; juices, cordials and vinegars; honey and honey products; jams and preserves; home reared traditional meat; plants and shrubs; fresh veg and soft fruits; personalised gifts and cards; and framing for pictures, cross stitch and tapestry.
Breakfast baps will also be available ‘al fresco’ from the Old School kitchen.
‘Last month we thought it was really successful,’ said Clive.
‘It was a trial and error thing to see how well we could manage it, but it was enjoyed by all the stallholders as there was a continuous stream of clients to make purchases,’ he said.
‘We were extremely pleased with the support of so many attending, and we’re looking forward to further support on Saturday.’
The market will be running outside at the Old School in Stoke Climsland on August 1 from 10am-12 noon.
