A man who deliberately damaged a bench in a town centre in April helped to put things right alongside volunteers.
The “Bodmin Tidy It” group are doing lots of things to help improve the town, including litter picks and looking after benches where people can sit during their shopping trips.
After one of the benches was deliberately vandalised in April, local police investigated, and thanks to CCTV, officers were able to identify the person responsible.
“The man admitted his actions and agreed to participate in a ‘Community Resolution’ where he purchased some paint (using his own money) and spent time with the Bodmin Tidy It team to complete the necessary repairs,” said the police.
“A representative of the team stated the male involved was very remorseful, apologetic and was a pleasure to work with. Keep up the great work team!”
