THIS week’s Cornish Times recipe comes from Danish-born food writer Bronte Aurell’s cookbook ScandiKitchen Christmas.
Her recipe is for Lucia buns, a special kind of S-shaped saffron bun enjoyed with mulled wine during the season of Advent in the Scandinavian countries of Denmark, Norway and Sweden.
They are named after the female Christian martyr St Lucy or Lucia (AD 283-304), whose feast day is celebrated today – December 13.
Cornish people are no strangers to saffron buns, of course, but find out how to make this special Scandinavian version in this week’s Cornish Times, in shops from tomorrow (Friday).
