WOMEN in the Torpoint area are being urged to make rugby their New Year’s resolution as a local club recruits new female players.

The St Columba and Torpoint RFC welcomes players of all ages and abilities and any level of fitness, says coach Steve Green.

Joining the club offers the chance to make new friends and become part of a ’fantastic rugby family’ says Steve, as well as improving fitness.

‘Through tailored fitness programmes, players will evolve to become competent and effective rugby players – and come to know what teamwork really means,’ he said.

‘Come and meet the players and chat to the coaches on Thursday evenings from 6.15pm at Defiance Field.’
