The future of the Alexandra Square toilets were on the agenda at a recent meeting of Saltash Town Council. Councillors discussing the possible reopening of the toilets debated whether to refurbish one section of the building, or whether to install a mechanical charge system. These ideas having both been rejected, members agreed to obtain two quotes for the refurbishment of the whole building before further steps are taken. Cllr Bob Austin pointed out that toilets on the Waterside had cost the town council £3,000 to repair after they had been damaged by members of the public.
