Young dancers raise

money for charity

SHEILA'S School of Dancing held their annual show at Killigarth Manor near Looe, the two performances raising £800 for the charity CLIC.

The show theme was 'dances from the films' with 145 pupils taking part ranging from two and a half years old to teenagers. Each audience had an attendance of over 300.

Sheila Brock thanked the compere, Edwina Arkell, and all the pupils and parents for their hard work supporting the school. She also thanked Peter and Gary Stevens (owners of the venue), Pam Crymble of Patsy's Florists and everyone who helped with the make-up, costumes and hair.

The award winners were: under eight, Amelia Dingle; Monday children's class, Georgia Cartwright; Tuesday's children's class, Isabelle Spencer; Pelynt Class, Hermione King; Thursday's children's class, Lee Griffiths; teenager's class, Claire Kinver; older teenager's class, Jade Sargent.

Emma Haley became dancer of the year and was presented with a trophy, donated by Barry and Lynn Leary from Press on Linen Services.

The mayor and mayoress were presented with flowers, and a raffle was organised by the Liskeard and Looe Ladies Circle.
