Coffees at
the Dagger
LOOE branch of the RNLI are to hold a coffee morning at the Dagger Restaurant, Pelynt, on Friday October 26 from l0am until noon.
There will be a souvenir stall and raffles. Entrance will be 50p, this including coffee.
Film night
and supper
THE Looe branch of South East Cornwall Conservative Association recently held a supper and film night at Porthallow End, Talland.
After the meal the 'full house' signs went up as the guests filled the purpose-built cinema to see a double feature programme which kept everyone well entertained.
Nearly £200 was raised for Association funds.
The Association hold its annual dinner at the Portbyhan Hotel, West Looe, on November 3.
Few voters
in election
THERE was a low turn-out at Looe's new Harbour Commissioners elections last week - with just 800 of the 4,344 who could have voted turning out to make their selection.
Those elected were Robert Newton, Joe Bussell, Peter Clements, Colin Cotton, James Rothwell, Mally Toms, Les Arkell, Mike Soady, Armand Toms and Weaver Toms.
NSPCC
proceeds
AN auction held for the NSPCC at the Barbican Inn, Looe, last weekend raised £920.60. The next event organised by the Looe and Polperro district fund-raising committee will be a coffee morning on October 26 at the Guildhall, East Looe at 11.50am.
Open day
at the Trust
WEST Looe Town Trust is to hold an open day on October 27 between l0am and 2pm.
Looe residents are invited to call for a chat and to meet the trustees, who will be available to conduct visitors around the new Trust offices in West Looe Square and to answer questions regarding the Trust's aims and objectives.
Window
smashed
POLICE in Looe are appealing for witnesses after a window to Liaisons Bistro, in Higher Market Street, was broken in the early hours of Sunday October 14.
The damage is estimated to cost £600. A police spokesman said it is believed there was someone who saw the incident, and they are asked to come forward, as is anyone else who may have information leading to the arrest of the offenders.
