Looe Town ended their long wait for a Junior Cup final victory – more than 100 years, in fact – with a 2-0 victory over local rivals Lanreath Reserves in the Eastern Area Final replay at Lux Park, Liskeard. The Bodmin Trophies Duchy League Premier Division outfit booked their place in the Easter Monday Final (April 5) against Western Area winners St Buryan – a match which will take place at Treyew Road, the home of Zamaretto Southern League Premier Division outfit Truro City. Town manager Mick Crick admitted: 'There were some outstanding individual performances out there, and this was more like the Looe side I know and love – a team built on spirit who are prepared to contest and fight for every ball. I thought we got what we deserved and we can now look forward to a fantastic day out for the players and supporters.' Looe's last Eastern Area Final success came way back in the 1903-04 campaign, when they beat Camelford 2-1.
