Looe RNLI has a dedicated crew of volunteers who, at a drop of a hat, don their sea dry suits and embark on rescues, often not knowing the details of the emergency until at sea.

Over the last three years Looe has had more than 118 shouts and rescued more than 70 people. This year the lifeboat station is celebrating 150 years since its formation.

Behind the crew and its associated shore based staff there is another less high profile team whose job it is to fundraise to enable the crew to carry out their fundamental role of saving lives at sea.

The fundraising branch committee organise numerous fundraising events, such as concerts, open days and special events including associated logistics.

Organisers now say they need help by bringing on volunteers to join the committee.
