Due to current weather conditions combined with tide times, the midnight firework display on New Years Eve in Looe has been cancelled.

Event organisers say: "We are unable to provide a safe launch site for the fireworks."

The 6pm display however will continue and will be the 'bumper' display. No other planned events will be affected.

A spokesperson from the organisers of the event said: "Come on in to Looe and enjoy the fantastic New Year celebrations!"
