WINNERS of a bookmark design competition, organised by Looe Library and Community Hub, recently visited Looe lifeboat Station to receive their prizes from the deputy mayor.

Towards the end of 2021, the Library and Community Hub ran a competition asking local children to design a bookmark. The library will be turning six amazing designs into bookmarks which will be available to purchase through the library, and they will be donating all the proceeds from the sale of these bookmarks to the Looe Lifeboat Appeal.

On Wednesday of last week four of the six prize winners visited Looe Lifeboat Station to receive their prizes from Edwina Hannaford, Looe’s Deputy Mayor. Whilst at the station they were able to see the charity’s inshore lifeboats and launch tractors.

Looe RNLI’s Lifeboat press officer, Ian Foster, welcomed the prize winners and their families to the station, he congratulated the winners and thanked the deputy mayor for the library’s very generous offer to donate the proceeds from the sale of the winning bookmarks to the Looe Lifeboat Appeal.
