Work on new homes in Looe is coming to an end. The completed project will provide 15 new homes that will be for social rent, managed by Cornwall Housing.

The homes have been advertised on Cornwall Homechoice and will soon be ready for new tenants to move in.

Cornwall Council, as part of its new-build programme, has funded the new properties. Cornwall Housing contracted local construction company, Gilbert and Goode to build the mixture of one- and two-bedroom flats and three-bedroom houses.

The new name of Old Park Lane was one of three names put forward to Looe Town Council by the children from Looe Academy. Children from the local school were also consulted on their ideas for how the new playpark should look on the development.

Cornwall Council Councillor for Looe East, Armand Toms said: ’These new homes go some way in addressing the need for high quality homes at an affordable rent for local people.

’Those who have registered their interest on Cornwall Homechoice needed to have a local connection to Looe which is important in keeping local families together.’
