Twenty members of Looe Boat Owners Association spent yesterday morning clearing up Looe Harbour in preparation for the coming boating season.
Following the efforts of the volunteers, a skip was filled with various discarded items, including parts of a pram, an old telephone handset, clothing and the usual bottles and cans. More than 25 refuse sacks were filled.
‘The sheer number of things collected in the Harbour was quite staggering’ said Laurie Watson, Chair of LBOA.
‘We found all sorts of metal and glass, and a massive amount of clothing. We had no trouble filling the skip.’
