Double duties
Looe's dog warden is also to double up as the town's traffic warden. Mr Richard Haddow was asked by the Devon and Cornwall Constabulary to undertake the dual role after their attempts to find a traffic warden for the summer season failed.
The town council agreed the appointment on a part time basis until September, on the understanding that Mr Haddow's new duties would in no way affect his job as dog warden.
Dinghy theft
A young German boy on holiday with his family in Looe has had his visit spoilt by the theft of his inflatable dinghy from the beach at Plaidy on Sunday.
The theft of the two- man blue, white and yellow craft, which has a yellow patch in the base, occurred between 6-6.30pm, being taken from high up on the shore line.

Carnival arrests
Police have reported that two people were arrested following an incident at a street party in Lostwithiel on July 22, which was part of the carnival.

Police re-inforcements were drafted in from Bodmin, Liskeard and St Blazey. The party began at 6.30pm and there had been no adverse incidents until the argument between a local and a visitor. One of those arrested was said to have collapsed, and taken to hospital, but was to be re-arrested.
Nameless help
Looe police are hoping to trace a good citizen who left a note on a car in the Millpool last Sunday afternoon telling the driver his car had been broken in to.
A radio had been stolen from the Rover, but unfortunately the person who left the note hadn't given a name. If anyone can help they should contact Looe police station on 0990 777444.
Callington crash
Firefighters from Callington had to cut a female motorist free from a car on Monday night following an accident in the centre of the town.
The crash on the A388, near the Coachmaker's Arms, occurred between a black Ford Escort Chicane and a white Ford Escort van.
Also attending the incident were police from Bodmin traffic and paramedics. The woman was cut free slowly, due to fears over a neck injury, but she was found to be less seriously hurt than initially feared. She was taken to Derriford Hospital, Plymouth.
The accident happened at 6.40pm, and she was freed at 7.23pm. The road, which was partially closed, was re-opened at 9.20pm.
