TORPOINT campaigner Margaret Gibbins has been awarded an Action for Animals Award in recognition of her outstanding commitment and dedication to saving animals and promoting vegetarianism and veganism. The awards are a special one-off event for Europe's largest vegetarian and vegan group Viva!, who are celebrating their tenth anniversary this week. Margaret was presented with the award by Viva patron, actress Jenny Seagrove, at the organisation's 10th Anniversary Dinner on the SS Great Britain in Bristol last Saturday. Margaret is a women in her 60's who began to support the group, exposing cruelty in livestock markets, and the live export of cows. Juliet Gellantley, director of Viva said: 'Margaret is an absolute star. She has shown beyond a shadow of a doubt that it's never too late to start fighting for animals and this is why Viva is delighted to be able to acknowledge her drive, bravery and determination to help animals work towards a cruelty-free veggie world.'
